Job summary

Birch Agency seeks an Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) Teacher to support preschoolers in Detroit, MI for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time, in-person role focuses on early intervention, school readiness, and development of foundational skills for children aged 3-5 with developmental delays.

The ECSE teacher will create engaging, inclusive, play-based learning experiences; develop and monitor IEPs; collaborate with families and related service providers; and contribute to data

Qualifications

• Must hold valid Michigan teaching certificate or T2EA.
• Endorsement in Special Education (ZS) and Early Childhood required.
• Experience with preschool-aged children with delays or disabilities preferred.
• Familiarity with Michigan ECE standards and IEP processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction to preschool-aged children in ECSE.
• Plan and deliver instruction aligned with Michigan standards and district curriculum.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and progress.
• Differentiate instruction to support cognitive, communication, social-emotional, and motor skills.
• Collaborate with families, therapists, and school staff to support transitions to kindergarten.
