Job summary

Vylor, Inc. is offering an Ecotoxicology Intern position within the ESAL Laboratory under Regulatory & Stewardship. The 6-month summer internship begins May 2027, offering hands-on experience in non-target organism testing and development of lab capabilities.

You will explore cell line maintenance, in-vitro and in-vivo testing relationships, and assist in refining vertebrate/invertebrate bioassay methods while following EPA GLP standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Currently pursuing a post-graduate degree in entomology, microbiology, biology, biotechnology, or a related scientific field.
• Experience with cell line maintenance and cellular testing is preferred.
• Experience with invertebrate laboratory bioassays is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and record-keeping ability.

Responsibilities

• Explore and optimize cell line maintenance procedures and phenotypic assays.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to evaluate in-vitro cellular testing and its relationship to in-vivo non-target organism testing.
• Research potential opportunities to expand in-vivo testing capabilities.
• Assist in the development and refinement of invertebrate laboratory bioassay methodologies.
• Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and records in compliance with EPA Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs).
• Support laboratory capability expansion projects and other ESAL initiatives as assigned.
