Salary Range: $36.00 To $38.00 Hourly

POSITIONSUMMARY

To provide instruction, beaccessible as assigned for student conferences (i.e. immediately prior toand following class sessions or by appointment), and maintain adequate andaccurate academic performance and attendance records of students – all underthe direction of the department dean or representative.

ESSENTIAL JOBDUTIES, FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Respond to inquiries from students, College employees and customerswhile maintaining standards of confidentiality and privacy, in a timely manner.Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the College, FERPA, studentrecords, and any other protected documentation.

Teach approved courses using applied learning methods in accordance withthe course objectives, the established syllabus, the schedule of classes, andother College and program requirements. Instruct in a variety of learningenvironments, both on and off campus, which may include web-based, highschools, and other sites.

Demonstrate ability and expertise in one's discipline and enthusiasm andcreativity in teaching to create an environment that motivates students tolearn. Manage the classroom and maintain records including preparing andupdating course syllabi, course materials, technology, and web-based courses.

Work with otherfaculty and the administration in carrying out all instructional procedures andwillingness to follow procedures, both at on- and off-campus locations.

Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, etc. and academic performance of students. Maintainaccurate records and possess strong organizational skills. Flexibility to meet academicclassroom schedules and off-campus sites. Maintain user proficiency forsoftware programs, systems, and databases used by the College.

Ability to teach lecture and laboratory courses and operate laboratoryequipment. Monitor safety practices within the classroom and laboratory.

Attendorganizational, orientation, or training meetings held preceding or during eachacademic term and departmental meetings whenever feasible.

QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree inEconomics or related discipline required; or a master’s degree with eighteen graduatesemester hours in Economics required. Higher education teaching experience preferred. Exhibit excellent English, communication, and writingskills. Proficiency in Microsoft® Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, andOutlook) with strong computer and related technology skills required. Demonstratethe ability to work independently and complete projects with minimal directionand oversight. Any combination of work experience, training, and/or educationequivalent may be accepted. Willingness to work an irregular schedule asassigned. Candidate must successfully pass a background check, prior to andafter employment. Valid driver’s license or dependable transportation required.

ADA SPECIFICATIONS

This position isclassified as Faculty and will teach in a wide range ofeducational venues to provide quality instruction to a diverse studentpopulation for the college, primarily in a classroom or office setting. Furtherinformation may be obtained from the Office of Human Resources.
