Job summary

Save the Children is seeking an Economic Evaluation Advisor to strengthen cost modeling and benchmarking for proposals and new business development. You will work with technical advisors, country offices, and finance teams to ensure costs reflect realistic budgets and drive program impact.

The role emphasizes economic evaluation, data analysis, and collaboration across teams, with travel up to 20% and a requirement for strong MS Office skills and English proficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 5+ years relevant experience.
  • Experience developing, reviewing, and analyzing program budgets, including activity-based budgeting.
  • Familiarity with cost-efficiency/cost-effectiveness analyses and the 4Es framework.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of program cost models translating strategies into activity-based budgets.
  • Maintain internal cost benchmarks from historical data and external sources.
  • Interpret cost benchmarks to build top-down cost estimates for proposals with cross-functional teams.
  • Analyze cost drivers across contexts and translate findings into practical guidance for proposals and program design.
  • Support cost-efficiency considerations in early proposal stages and donor requirements.
  • Mentor and build cost-modelling capacity across teams; develop tools and templates.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of cost modeling templates and processes.
