Job summary

City of Buckeye seeks an Economic Development Project Manager - Construction to drive commercial development during entitlement, permitting, infrastructure, and construction. You will serve as the main liaison among developers, consultants, and City departments to ensure on-time project delivery from initial coordination through occupancy.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and 4 years in economic development or related fields, with preferred local government experience and marketing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 4 years of experience in economic development, redevelopment, community development, business assistance, real estate development, public/private finance, or related field.
  • Preferred: Local government experience in a rapidly growing community; marketing and research principles.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes and develops the City by recruiting and expanding businesses in the community.
  • Manages recruitment of business by researching companies and industries, developing strategic and marketing plans, generating business leads, representing the City at trade shows, presenting to private sector executives, and negotiating on behalf of the City.
  • Coordinate proposals to clients, respond to inquiries, and assist in presentations and site visits.
  • Conduct market research aligned with the City's target industries, coordinate with other departments to incorporate technology, manage client databases.
  • Provide staff support to key economic development programs, projects, boards, commissions, and task forces.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies, including target industry identification and distribution of digital and print materials.
  • Assist in negotiating development agreements with clients after determining project parameters and presenting to leadership.
  • Coordinate intra-departmental teams to assist locates with entitlement and construction processes.
  • Make written and verbal presentations to City management, Council, the public, and outside groups.
