Job summary

Alliance Consumer Group is seeking a experienced Web Developer to lead and contribute to the full System Development Life Cycle, building scalable web applications with a strong emphasis on eCommerce, plugins, and integrations. You will design, develop, and implement solutions that align with business needs and customer experiences.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior developers, and ensure code quality and security while delivering high-performance applications.

Job description

The Web Developer will report to the VP of Technology and must successfully lead and contribute to all aspects of the System Developmental Life Cycle. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of web-based applications development, eCommerce experience, and related technologies including object-oriented programming, database development, API development, and UI/UX techniques. They will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing scalable custom application solutions. They will have a strong understanding of how an integrated applications landscape is designed and functions properly.

Essentials Duties, Functions and/or Responsibilities:

Project Support:

• Provide accurate estimates and right designs with a ‘fail early’ approach
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain the priority set by your manager
• Assess and support testing and training to business community

Design and Development:

• Gather Requirements and translate into system and technical designs
• Lead the design and development of advanced custom applications solutions, including a heavy focus on eCommerce applications
• Develop custom components and applications
• Use best practices for development, ensuring scalability, performance, and security

Enterprise Systems and Integration:

• Integrate applications with other systems using various integration methods such as oData, REST and SOAP APIs
• Develop, configure and run middleware solutions for complex integrations
• Ensure data synchronization between all applications within the applications landscape
• Strong understanding of eCommerce, CRM, and ERP technologies and platforms

Database Management:

• Design and manage data models, including creating and managing database objects and fields
• Implement data validation rules and workflows

Troubleshooting and Support:

• Act as the first line of defense for custom application development issues
• Troubleshoot problems, debug code, and provide ongoing support to ensure system stability
• Prioritize restoring services, and root cause analysis

Collaboration and Mentorship:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives and requirements
• Mentor and guide junior developers, providing technical leadership and support
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards

Work Experience and Education:

• 5+ years’ applications development and project experience as a web developer
• 5+ years demonstrating the ability to understand business processes and map them to technology solutions
• Successfully led and supported all phases of the SDLC for multiple projects
• Proven ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams at all levels
• Provide production support or system rollouts on nights and weekends
• Proven ability to rapidly learn new development frameworks
• Preference for experience with Shopify or similar eCommerce platforms and Salesforce technologies

Education:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is acceptable
