Job summary

Marks seeks a Group Strategy Director, Commerce to lead the development and growth of our eCommerce Strategy discipline across the agency. This leader will scale the eCommerce practice, drive thought leadership, and ensure strategic excellence for clients across major retailers and marketplaces.

You will oversee a growing team of Strategy Directors and junior strategists, partner with Creative and Account leads, and shape omnichannel strategies that deliver measurable impact.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in digital strategy with eCommerce leadership experience.
• Proven track record mentoring strategy teams.
• Experience in CPG and Retail verticals.
• Deep knowledge of retailer platforms (Amazon, Walmart, Target).
• Hands-on with SEO, PDP strategy, and content syndication tools.
• Proficient with tools like Helium 10, Walmart Connect, Amazon Ads.
• Strong ability to translate vision into actionable strategy.
• Collaborative across creative, copy, insights, and client service.

Responsibilities

• Define and scale strategic frameworks for eCommerce clients.
• Oversee strategy development across a portfolio of clients.
• Partner with Creative and Account leadership on campaign strategies.
• Lead, mentor, and grow Strategy Directors and junior staff.
• Contribute to business development and new business pitches.
• Stay ahead of marketplace changes and retailer algorithms.
• Represent the agency in client strategy presentations.
