Job summary

URBN Urban Outfitters, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer to contribute across the full software development lifecycle, focusing on ecommerce platforms such as Anthropologie.com, UrbanOutfitters.com, FreePeople.com and ShopTerrain.com.

You will design and build microservices, implement features, and collaborate with architects, partners and end users while leveraging AI coding agents and modern web technologies to deliver robust customer-facing applications.

Qualifications

• Proficient in OO design patterns and modern software practices.
• 3–5+ years of software development experience.
• Experience with browser technologies: JSON, REST, HTML, AJAX, CSS.
• Self-starter with responsibility for features from inception to completion.
• Proficient in Python and Golang.
• Strong RESTful services design and async messaging knowledge.
• Hands-on experience with an AI coding agent in professional codebases.
• Excellent communication across developers, QA and business counterparts.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop microservices and event-driven systems.
• Develop new features for Ecommerce applications and enhance existing code.
• Plan, design and develop complex business-critical software solutions.
• Create functional designs with architects, partners and end users.
• Leverage AI coding agents and ensure code quality and correctness.
• Respond to production issues and incidents as needed.
• Collaborate in a cross-functional team environment.
