Job summary

URBN is seeking a Software Engineer to contribute across the full software development lifecycle for its ecommerce platforms including Anthropologie.com and UrbanOutfitters.com. You will design and implement microservices, build new features, and work with designers, architects, and product partners to deliver high quality, scalable solutions.

The role requires 3–5 years of software development experience, strong REST and data modeling skills, and proficiency in Python/Golang.

Qualifications

• Proficient in OO principles and modern design patterns.
• 3-5 years of software development experience in web services.
• Experience with JSON, REST, HTML, AJAX, CSS in browser contexts.
• Self-starter and eager to own features end-to-end.
• Proficient in Python and Golang with RESTful APIs.
• Strong data modeling and asynchronous messaging skills.
• Experience with AI coding agents in professional codebases.
• Excellent communication across teams and with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop microservices and event-driven systems.
• Develop new features and improve existing ecommerce applications.
• Plan, design, and build complex software solutions from requirements.
• Create functional designs with architects, engineers, and business partners.
• Leverage AI coding agents during planning and coding, ensuring quality.
• Respond to production issues and maintain system reliability.
• Collaborate across teams and share knowledge with peers.
