Job summary

Spheros Environmental Group is seeking an Ecological Taxonomy Lab Manager to lead the Moscow laboratory and oversee the Freshwater, Marine, and Algae service lines. The role focuses on coordinating people, projects, workload, and resources to deliver high-quality work on schedule.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, capable of balancing competing priorities, and able to communicate across departments while ensuring efficient operations and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate day-to-day operations for the Moscow laboratory across the Freshwater, Marine, and Algae service lines as well as the Sorting Lab.
• Monitor workload and adjust staffing to meet project demands.
• Collaborate with Sales and department leadership to schedule new work without overloading the lab.
• Oversee project approvals, invoicing, purchasing, and documentation.
• Provide leadership and a collaborative, organized work environment for laboratory staff.
• Coordinate staffing and resources based on project priorities and capacity.
• Serve as Project Manager of Record for Ecological Taxonomy projects or assign PM responsibilities as needed.
• Support ATLIS implementation and integration of workflows across service lines.
• Act as escalation point for clients and external partners to ensure satisfaction.
