Job summary

Atrium Health Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte, NC seeks an experienced ECMO nurse/RT to operate ECMO equipment and deliver patient care per physician orders under the ECMO team manager. The role requires RN or Respiratory Therapy licensure, ACLS/PALS/NRP certifications, and at least three years of acute care ICU experience.

Expect rotating weeknights, weekends, and on-call shifts with a sign-on bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• RN or RT license from an accredited school.
• Three years of acute care ICU experience required.
• ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required/maintained.
• Rotating weeknights, weekends, and on-call shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operates ECMO equipment and provides care per physician orders.
• Monitors ECMO pump function and circuit parameters; adjusts as directed.
• Document and bill ECMO-related care.
• Operate point-of-care labs; interpret results per orders.
• Set up and prime ECMO circuits; assist with cannulation/decannulation and in-house transport.
• Manage disruptions to ECMO and replace circuit components as needed.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary ECMO team to ensure patient safety.
• Maintain competency with ECMO procedures; participate in drills if needed.
