Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center is seeking an ECMO Specialist to participate in developing and executing ECMO treatment plans for critically ill patients. The role includes assessment, planning, implementation, and educating the care team and patient families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Completion of a designated ECMO training program, and/or formal education in Extra Corporeal Circulation.
• Licenses: RN (TX) or RRT or CCP required; NBRC or CCP certification as applicable.

• Participate in development of ECMO treatment plans, including assessment, planning, implementation, and education.

Job Purpose

• The ECMO specialist participates in the development of a treatment plan, involving assessment, planning, implementation, and education. Communicates with the ECMO physician and other members of the healthcare team to interpret, adjust and complete treatment specific to the ECMO patient care plan.

Job Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree
• Completion of a designated ECMO training program, and/or formal education in Extra Corporeal Circulation.

Licenses and/or Certifications

• Registered Nursing License issued by the State of Texas Board of Nursing
• Or RRT-Registered Respiratory Therapist License and
  Current NBRC – National Board of Respiratory Care
• Or CCP – Certified Perfusion License

• Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association

Work Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience
