Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center is seeking an ECMO specialist to participate in developing and executing ECMO treatment plans for intensive care patients. The role involves assessment, planning, implementation, and education, with close communication to the ECMO physician and the broader healthcare team.

You will interpret and adjust the ECMO care plan, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes while contributing to interdisciplinary education and care optimization in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Completion of designated ECMO training program or ECMO-related education.
• Licensed in Texas as RN or RRT with NBR...C/CCP credentials.
• BLS and ACLS required.

Responsibilities

• Develops ECMO treatment plans through assessment, planning, implementation, and education.
• Communicates with ECMO physician and healthcare team to interpret and adjust treatment for ECMO patients.
• Interprets and completes the ECMO patient care plan.
• Educates team members about ECMO care as needed.

Job Purpose

• The ECMO specialist participates in the development of a treatment plan, involving assessment, planning, implementation, and education. Communicates with the ECMO physician and other members of the healthcare team to interpret, adjust and complete treatment specific to the ECMO patient care plan.

Job Requirements:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree
• Completion of a designated ECMO training program, and/or formal education in Extra Corporeal Circulation.

Licenses and/or Certifications:

• Registered Nursing License issued by the State of Texas Board of Nursing
• Or RRT-Registered Respiratory Therapist License and
• Current NBRC - National Board of Respiratory Care
• Or CCP - Certified Perfusion License
• And
• Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience
