Job summary

Tufts Medicine seeks a skilled Respiratory Therapist to support ECMO patients across neonatal to adult populations. You will manage ECMO-related care, assist with rounds, and provide advanced respiratory therapies per department protocols.

The role requires an Associate’s degree in Respiratory Care, Massachusetts licensure, and RRT certification, with BLS and ECMO training preferred. You will contribute to continuous quality improvement within the Respiratory Care team.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from an accredited Respiratory Care program.
• Licensed by the state of Massachusetts to provide respiratory care.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• One (1) year of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) trained.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical expertise and assistance Respiratory Care department team members on a daily basis including managing day-to-day clinical issues that arise.
• Operates the ECMO device and manages ECMO-related care for neonatal, pediatric, and adult ECMO.
• Demonstrates expertise in caring for patients with multiple or complex conditions in which ECMO may be indicated.
• Ensures appropriate ECMO patient care, anticipating, identifying and correcting problems associated with any ECMO procedures or technology.
• Functions independently following standing orders and ECMO policies, procedures, and protocols.
