Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist–ECMO Specialist (RRT-ES) to provide respiratory care and support for adults on ECMO. Under medical direction, you will manage ECMO circuits, ventilatory support, and related life-sustaining therapies.

You will participate in education, quality initiatives, and interdisciplinary rounds, ensuring protocol compliance, patient safety, and effective transport.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• RRT credential and MA licensure required; BLS certification required.
• ECMO training program upon hire or during next available course offering.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care per department policies, including oxygen and ventilation.
• Manage and monitor adults on mechanical ventilation and airway care.
• Assess patient response and escalate concerns as needed.
• Assist with ABG sampling, bronchoscopy support, and related procedures.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in rapid response and critical care.
