Job summary

SpecialtyCare in New Jersey is seeking an ECMO Specialist to operate and maintain ECMO circuits for patients requiring cardiopulmonary support under physician supervision.

You will assist with initiation, management, and weaning of ECMO, monitor blood gases and anticoagulation, and coordinate with perfusionists and nurses; a focus on safety and adherence to standing orders.

Qualifications

• Active RN license or RT license or Perfusionist certification.
• Combination of education and board certification as listed above.
• Experience with ECMO therapy and critical care environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initiation and management of ECMO per standing orders.
• Ensure circuit integrity and safety during rounds and patient handling.
• Monitor blood gases and anticoagulation within prescribed parameters.
• Adjust pump flow and oxygenator gas flow as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, perfusionists, and nursing staff to optimize patient care.
