Job summary

SpecialtyCare is seeking an ECMO Specialist in Philadelphia, PA, USA. You will operate and maintain ECMO circuits for patients requiring long-term pulmonary and/or cardiopulmonary support under physician supervision.

Key duties include initiating and concluding ECMO with the team, ensuring circuit safety during rounds, and adjusting anticoagulation and gas flows within prescribed parameters. A strong focus on safety and collaboration across clinical staff is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have one of the listed education/credentials: RN with active license, RT with RRT, or Perfusionist with CCP and perfusion background.

Responsibilities

• Assist ECMO physician and staff with initiation, course, and conclusion of ECMO procedures and related therapies.
• Demonstrate safety through hand-offs and continuous circuit checks during patient care.
• Examine ECMO circuit integrity and plan care with written parameters.
• Maintain ECMO circuit continuity and reduce circuit compromise risks.
• Assess blood gases and anticoagulation, adjusting parameters per physician guidelines.
• Monitor infusions, blood products, and oxygenator gas flows as needed.

Education

RN licensure / Associate or Bachelor in Nursing

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Perfusionist CCP certification
