Job summary
Tampa General Hospital is seeking a Nurse Practitioner for the ECMO service within its Critical Care/Intensive Care unit in Tampa, Florida. The APRN/PA will provide autonomous and collaborative care for ECMO patients, focusing on health promotion and disease management under established protocols.
Requirements include Florida APRN or PA licensure, AC LS/BLS, and ECMO or critical care experience. The role offers interdisciplinary collaboration with intensivists, perfusionists, and nursing staff
Qualifications
- Current licensure as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant in the State of Florida.
- ACLS & BLS certification (American Heart Association).
- ECMO experience preferred for critical care settings.
- Experience in cardiac critical care, pulmonology, or related specialties is highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care to ECMO patients with assessment and care plan development.
- Monitor ECMO parameters daily and troubleshoot complications.
- Perform bedside procedures such as arterial and central lines, cannulation assistance.
- Collaborate with intensivists, perfusionists, and nursing staff to optimize outcomes.
- Educate patients' families about ECMO therapy and care plans.
- Interpret diagnostics and make medically indicated decisions per protocols.
