Covenant HR LLC is seeking a Senior ECM Migration Consultant for a leading cybersecurity and technology consulting organization. The role is primarily remote in the U.S.

with potential onsite in Atlanta, GA, and is a 24-week contract (40 hours/week). You will lead OpenText Extended ECM and Windows file share migrations to SharePoint Online, design metadata mappings, validate data integrity, and ensure governance and Purview compliance.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years of enterprise content management experience with OpenText Extended ECM.
• 3+ years delivering OpenText migrations and 3 completed migration projects.
• Deep knowledge of Content Server, metadata, version histories, and permissions.
• Experience migrating OpenText content into SharePoint Online with proper architecture.
• Experience migrating Windows file shares and managing NTFS permissions.
• PowerShell scripting, metadata mapping, permission validation, and audit-ready reconciliation.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Purview, retention policies, and regulated environments.

Aufgaben

• Lead source-side migration activities for a large-scale enterprise content management modernization initiative, transitioning OpenText Extended ECM and Windows file shares into SharePoint Online.
• Conduct comprehensive discovery and inventory of existing content repositories, including documents, metadata, permissions, business workspaces, and version histories.
• Design and implement metadata mapping strategies and migration crosswalks to ensure accurate content classification and preservation of critical business information.
• Evaluate and leverage enterprise migration tools to support efficient, secure, and scalable content extraction and migration.
• Develop and execute pilot migrations and production migration waves, addressing technical dependencies, migration constraints, and potential risks.
• Validate migrated content through checksum comparisons, metadata reconciliation, permission verification, and data integrity testing.
• Identify and remediate complex migration challenges, including broken permission inheritance, orphaned workspaces, obsolete content, excessive access, and long folder paths.
• Collaborate with SharePoint Online architects and security teams to align migrated content with appropriate information architecture, access controls, and governance requirements.
• Support Microsoft Purview compliance initiatives, including retention policies, records management, and sensitive information protection.
• Ensure migration processes minimize security risks, unauthorized access, and potential oversharing within Microsoft 365 environments.
• Maintain detailed migration documentation, exception logs, reconciliation reports, and audit-ready evidence throughout the project lifecycle.
• Work closely with our client's cloud consulting leadership and broader migration delivery team through discovery, design, execution, testing, cutover, and project closure.

Job Title - Senior ECM Migration Consultant

Location - Primarily Remote (U.S.) with potential minimal onsite requirements in Atlanta, GA

Role Type - Contract (24 weeks, 40 hours/week)

Must Have Skills:

• OpenText Extended ECM Migration: 5+ years of enterprise content management experience, including 3+ years delivering OpenText migrations and at least 3 completed OpenText migration projects. Deep knowledge of Content Server, business workspaces, metadata, Categories and Attributes, version histories, permissions, and extraction.
• SharePoint Online Migration: Proven experience migrating OpenText content into SharePoint Online, including content types, managed metadata, Document Sets, permission inheritance, site architecture, and migration constraints.
• Windows File Shares & Migration Tools: Experience migrating Windows file shares, managing NTFS permissions, remediating folder structures, and leveraging enterprise migration tools such as Proventeq, AvePoint, Xillio, or comparable platforms.
• PowerShell, Validation & Compliance: Hands-on experience with PowerShell scripting, content inventory, metadata mapping, permission validation, checksum comparisons, and audit-ready reconciliation. Knowledge of Microsoft Purview, retention policies, records management, and regulated financial environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with OpenText CE 23.x, OScript, WebLingo, or Brava.
• Familiarity with SharePoint Advanced Management, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Graph API, and Power Automate.
• Previous experience supporting financial services organizations or other highly regulated environments.
• Microsoft certifications such as MS-102, SC-400, or SC-401; OpenText certification is a plus.
