UPMC is hiring a Full-Time Echocardiography Sonographer to support Carlisle Hospital.

Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm

This position offers a $15k sign-on bonus for a 2-year commitment or $30k for a 3-year commitment.

Performs imaging procedures independently, demonstrating technical proficiency and the ability to recognize critical pathologies.

Responsibilities:

• Communicate instructions clearly to patients, explaining procedures to reduce anxiety and obtain cooperation.
• Properly identify patients, review medical history, assess physician orders, and document information accurately.
• Operate ultrasound equipment skillfully, applying knowledge of techniques to optimize images.
• Interact professionally with patients and colleagues, demonstrating care, listening skills, and respect.
• Ensure exams are correctly coded, documented, and charges entered accurately.
• Perform Cardiac Ultrasound procedures, including Transthoracic, Transesophageal, Stress, and Contrast Echocardiography, following established guidelines and protocols.
• Adhere to organizational policies and demonstrate professionalism.
• Work independently within a reasonable timeframe, covering shifts and on-call duties, and assisting at satellite facilities as needed.
• Support physicians during invasive procedures, following universal protocol standards.
• Obtain high-quality echocardiographic images using appropriate techniques and equipment, including advanced studies such as Doppler and contrast imaging.
