Job description

Join our team as a Fetal Echo Sonographer.

The ideal candidate has experience in both pediatric and fetal echo and is willing to travel between our centers located in Mechanicsburg, Harrisburg, Carlisle, York Memorial, Chambersburg.

We are currently offering a Sign-On Bonus for new hire Echo Techs:
$30,000 for a three-year commitment or a $15,000 sign-on bonus for a two-year commitment.

UPMC will determine seniority level placement within the career ladder upon hire based on education and professional experience.

Purpose:

Performs imaging procedures at an advanced level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of advanced technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and a broad knowledge of cardiac pathology.

Responsibilities:
  • Performs or assists Lead Sonographer or Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives.
  • Demonstrates the ability to function independently, cover shifts, on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, while maintaining communication with the lead and management team. Shows a working knowledge of equipment and troubleshooting skills.
  • Willing to learn new skills and educate others in their areas of expertise. Acts as a resource for new hires and students.
  • Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups and collaborates with Cardiologists on protocol development.
  • Exhibits advanced knowledge of normal anatomy and pathology, able to recognize pathology, and assesses patient results for communication with physicians.
  • Performs all responsibilities of a Level I Sonographer.
  • Acts in accordance with system-wide and departmental values, policies, and procedures.
