Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer to perform diagnostic echocardiograms and assist with transesophageal echocardiograms under the supervision of a Cardiologist. The role requires ARDMS protocol knowledge, strong imaging skills, and collaboration across departments.

Shifts include Day Shift, 40 hours per week, with on-call and weekend duties as described. A signing bonus may be available; employment offers will reflect experience and internal equity considerations.

Qualifications

• 1 year of formal training or equivalent experience with equipment.
• Current CPR certification.
• 2-3 years of dedicated cardiac experience (excluding training).

Responsibilities

• Performs echocardiograms (M-mode, 2D, color/Doppler) per ARDMS protocol.
• Obtains complete clinical history from patient or chart.
• Writes preliminary technical interpretation of echo results.
• Captures diagnostic-quality digital loops for cardiologist review.
• Prepares patient, room and equipment for TEE and assists during procedure.
• Maintains exam quality records and scheduling logistics.
