Job summary

Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls, MN, is seeking a casual Echocardiography/Ultrasound technologist to perform transthoracic and vascular exams, with on-site duties and weekend/on-call coverage.

The role requires ARDMS RDCS certification or eligible, CPR certification, and flexibility to rotate shifts. You will support patient care, sanitation, and coordination with Radiology staff in a small hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Must hold ARDMS RDCS registration or be a graduate of an Echocardiography program and pass ARDMS exam within timeframe set by supervisor.
• CPR certification required on hire or within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations including transthoracic, transesophageal, stress echocardiography and vascular ultrasound.
• Handle direct patient care, cleaning, stocking, office tasks, and transportation of patients.
• Work cooperatively with staff, be flexible with hours, and participate in rotational on-call coverage.

Overview

The purpose of this position is to perform all Echocardiography/Vascular related duties, including producing quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations while providing good patient care and maintaining your own good health.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performance of diagnostic ultrasound examinations or training to perform such exams in the areas of transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiography as well as vascular ultrasound. Along with direct patient care duties, the position includes cleaning and stocking, office work, and transportation of patients. This job includes in‑house patients, emergency, and clinic patients. The role requires cooperatively working with other staff, flexibility with hours, and taking call on a rotational basis.

Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to the Radiology Director and is supervised by the Ultrasound Supervisor. The incumbent has contact with patients, LRH employees, volunteers, clinic personnel, and physicians. The role has access to sensitive, confidential information and must maintain those confidences. The incumbent must be able to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.

Shifts

Casual hours to help with weekend and holiday call coverage.

Compensation

Hourly Wage Range: $40.47-$54.43. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.

Qualifications

1. Must have a minimum of one ARDMS (RDCS) registration and be working towards registration in the areas in which you are or will be performing examinations; or be a graduate of a school of Echocardiography and must successfully complete an ARDMS examination within a time frame set by the Ultrasound Supervisor. The level of education must include the ability to communicate effectively orally and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Current Healthcare Provider level CPR certification is required upon hire or must be obtained within 6 months.
2. Must be able to attend the work site as scheduled, be flexible with hours, and take call on a rotational basis.
3. Successful completion of the pre-employment health screening process is required.
