Shift: M-F with Rotating Weekends/Holidays

Location: 1324 Lakeland Hills Blvd Lakeland, FL

Pay Rate: Min $33.89 Mid $42.18

Position Summary

Responsibility for performing all echocardiograms to include 2D, M-Mode, Color Doppler, Pulse Wave Doppler, Continuous Wave Doppler, Transesophageal echocardiogram, stress echo and other related examinations according to established standards and practices at a high technical level. All echo technologists will perform echocardiograms in accordance with the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories standards.

  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of cardiovascular ultrasound techniques and modalities
  • Rotates call on nights and weekends as assigned.
  • Maintains Echo equipment and supplies as described in department SOP
  • Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.

  • Responsible seeking and attending continuous education programs to remain competent in their field.
  • Experience with equipment including: Phillips IE33, HD11, CX50. Tee probe sterilization process. Stress echos, and pediatric echos.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support
Certifications Essential
  • Cardiac Sonographer Registry RCS or RCDS within two years of hire.

  • Cardiac Sonographer Registry, RCS or RCDS
Experience Essential
  • Either prior work experience or a clinical practicum at an acute care hospital.
Experience Preferred
  • One year of experience in an acute care hospital.
