Job summary

St. David's Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to perform non-invasive cardiovascular procedures including adult echocardiography.

You will collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality diagnostics and patient care while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. The role requires one year of adult echocardiography experience, with preferred skills in Stress Echo and TEE, and RDCS/RCS certification.

Qualifications

• One year experience performing adult echocardiograms.
• Proficiency in Stress Echo, TEE – preferred.
• Proficiency in Carotid ultrasound, Trans Cranial Doppler studies – preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interact with physicians, patients, guests, and health team members using open, professional communication.
• Make decisions of moderate difficulty reflecting knowledge and judgment.
• Handle confidential patient information in a professional manner.
• Demonstrate competency with all equipment used in Cardiology and related to job functions.
• Demonstrate competency in arrhythmia interpretation.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will be responsible for the performance of non-invasive cardiovascular procedures including but not limited to adult/pediatric echocardiography. You will work closely with other healthcare team members to facilitate exceptional patient care and efficient completion of diagnostic studies while also promoting optimal unit operations and acting as a preceptor. You will adhere to customer service standards while maintaining a clean, efficient, and safe work environment.

• You will utilize open, professional communication (verbal, non-verbal, and written) to directly interact with physicians, patients, guests, and other health team members
• You will make decisions of moderate difficulty that reflect both knowledge and good judgement
• You will handle confidential information regarding patient activities
• You will demonstrate an effective working knowledge of all equipment used in Cardiology and related to their job functions
• You will demonstrate competency in arrhythmia interpretation

What qualifications you will need:

• One year experience performing adult echocardiograms
• Proficiency in Stress Echo, TEE – preferred
• Proficiency in Carotid ultrasound, Trans Cranial Doppler studies – preferred
• Associate’s Degree in Ultrasound Technology education-required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) as per St. David’s Healthcare policy
• (RDCS) Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, or (RCS) Registered Cardiac Sonographer
