Responsibilities

• Provides a preliminary diagnostic report to physician and final preliminary tracing interpretation.
• Operates echocardiography equipment to obtain and record two-dimensional and M-mode graphic representations of the heart.
• Effectively communicates with all staff members and Cardiologists.
• Prepares patients for diagnostic procedures, including taking vital signs and measurements, positioning patients, and explaining procedures.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

• Associates degree with completion of a Sonography Program.
• 2 years of echocardiography experience.

Required Licensure and Certifications

• Active certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
• or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer.
• or Registered Vascular Sonographer.
