Job summary

St. Luke's Health-Sugar Land Hospital is seeking an Echo Tech/Sonographer to perform diagnostic echocardiography and capture high-quality cardiac images.

The role requires proficient cardiac knowledge, strong technical skills, and clear communication to support cardiovascular diagnosis and treatment. Responsibilities include equipment readiness, quality checks, room maintenance, and inventory control while assisting with a range of echocardiographic studies and patient testing in a hospital

Qualifications

• CPR certification within 14 days of hire.
• CCI/SDCS/SDCS-Adult Echo/Fetal Echo/DM/DM-Fetal Echo certifications required upon hire or by later date.
• Associate degree or health-related certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Performs ultrasound diagnostic imaging per department procedures.
• Prepares and maintains equipment and room after procedures.
• Maintains equipment logs and quality checks.
• Manages clinical supply inventory.
• Assists with patient testing including routine, urgent, and emergent requests.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an Echo Tech/Sonographer, you will perform diagnostic echocardiography procedures to assist in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular conditions.
Every day you will operate ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality cardiac images and data, ensuring patient comfort and performing a range of echocardiographic studies.
To be successful, you will possess a strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, proficient technical skills, and effective communication abilities to provide exceptional diagnostic services.

• Performs ultrasound diagnostic imaging on patients according to the specific departmental procedure protocols
• Prepares equipment ensuring that equipment is operational, safe and functioning
• Ensures that daily equipment and room maintenance is performed after each procedure
• Completes all quality checks and Ensures that equipment logs are maintained
• Completes all clinical supply inventory
• Actively Participates with patient testing, performing routine, non-routine, urgent, and emergent patient requests

Job Requirements

Required

• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 days
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer CCI, upon hire or
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, upon hire or
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Adult Echo, upon hire or
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Fetal Echo, upon hire or
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, upon hire or
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Fetal Echo, upon hire

Preferred

• Associate's degree or
• One year certificate from a health related program in a related medical field, which includes seminar course training in cardiac ultrasound
