Job summary

Carle Health in Normal, IL seeks an Echo Technologist to oversee echocardiography procedures, patient care, and workflow in the echocardiography lab. You will perform a full range of cardiac diagnostic testing and assist physicians and sonographers in delivering high-quality exams.

Qualifications include BLS, ARDMS/CCI registration within 1 year, and an Associate's Degree in Sonography; experience in healthcare is valued. Eligible for sign-on and relocation bonuses; call rotation is required.

Qualifications

  • ARDMS or CCI registration within 1 year.
  • Education: Experience In Lieu of Education.
  • Associate's Degree: Sonography.
  • Work Experience: Previous healthcare

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine and complex echocardiographic imaging following guidelines.
  • Critiques imaging quality by optimizing positioning and technical factors.
  • Reviews patient data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Documents studies and charges in the system.
  • Cross-trains to other divisions within CV Services.
  • Administers contrast when needed and not contraindicated.
  • Completes preliminary info for physician reading in Epic and Xcelera.
  • Participates in rotation of call through weeks and weekends.
  • Provides compassionate care and high-quality studies to patients.
  • Performs all forms of Echo testing (Stress, Dobutamine, pediatric and TE echoes).
  • Pursues ongoing knowledge in all aspects of Echo.

  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • ARDMS or CCI registration within 1 year - Varies
  • Education: Experience In Lieu of Education
  • Associate's Degree: Sonography
  • Work Experience: Previous healthcare
Responsibilities
  • Performs routine and complex echocardiographic sonography imaging procedures following departmental guidelines.
  • Demonstrates acceptable imaging quality standards by critiquing positioning, technical factors and alignment.
  • Reviews patient data for accuracy, quality and completeness.
  • Documents accurately and completely.
  • Cross-trains to other divisions of CV Services.
  • Administers contrast when needed and not contraindicated.
  • Completes documentation of studies performed and charges in Epic as well as complete preliminary info in Xcelera system for Physician reading.
  • Is included in a rotation of call thru the week and on weekends with other Team members.
  • Is Team minded and provides compassionate care and quality studies to our community of patients.
  • Performs all forms of Echo testing (Exercise Stress; Dobutamine stress; Echoes; Pediatric echoes; Transeophageal echoes) in a timely fashion.
  • Seeks to advance their knowledge in all aspects of Echo with an open mind to constructive learning and teaching.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $36.78per hour - $63.26per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
