Certifications: American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) within 1 year - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS); Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA); Registered Vascular Technologist - Vascular Technology (RVT-VT) within 1 year - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), Education: Certificate of Completion: Radiologic Technology; Associate's Degree: Related Field, Work Experience:

Responsibilities

Clinical Excellence/Patient Care

• Exhibits competency in performing ultrasound procedures
• Images required views demonstrating appropriate anatomy and pathology
• Knowledgeable of catheters, biopsy instruments and sterile trays and prepares these items as necessary
• Obtains accurate histories and explains rationale for procedure to patients/families
• Enhances image quality through the use of appropriate transducers and machine settings
• Evaluates the finished images to ensure diagnostic exams are being submitted to the radiologists
• Maintains quality care throughout the procedure
• Assess the abdominal arterial & venous system using color imaging

Clinical Excellence

• All ultrasound equipment within the Medical Imaging Ultrasound department
• Technically knowledgeable of equipment operation including hardware and software
• Performs reasonable trouble shooting
• Reports equipment problems through appropriate channels & documents on board for all staff notification
• Maintains clean work area, checks and stocks all supplies in their specific area and verifies pertinent accessories assigned to that room
• Reports equipment problems through appropriate channels
• Invasive Procedures
• Able to document area of concern
• Set up trays with sterile field for radiologist
• Assists radiologist with biopsy
• Orders labs and pathology tests under the direction of a radiologist

Relationship Building

• Promptly processes images and paperwork to ensure timely turn around in providing a report to the physician's office
• Fills out all appropriate paperwork to facilitate timely and accurate reportingMaintains and coordinates patient flow to ensure efficient and expedient patient care
• Promptly and accurately enters patient information into HIS system to ensure efficient patient throughput
• Maintenance of the QA, QC, QI programs
• Shares knowledge and guides fellow technologists/students with proper department protocol and procedures
• Displays a professional attitude in the area toward fellow technologists/students, fostering mutual respect and creating productive learning environment

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $35.5per hour - $61.06per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
