Job summary

Keck Hospital of USC is seeking an Echo Tech to perform non-invasive cardiology procedures, including echocardiography, in collaboration with cardiology leadership. You will assist in OR with TEE and in ICU/Cath Lab with ICE/TEE procedures, participate in after-hours rotations, and ensure accurate documentation and adherence to safety protocols.

Requirements include an accredited echocardiography program, 1 year of experience, and ARDMS/CCI credentialing eligibility, plus BLS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited program related to sonography with emphasis on Echocardiography.
• 1 year experience in performing Echocardiograms, Stress Echos, ECGs and related diagnostic cardiac procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work effectively with physicians, staff and patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform Echocardiography per policy in a timely, technically adequate manner.
• Collaborate with Echo Cardiologist and Supervisor for high-quality images.
• Assist in OR with Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE).
• Assist Cardiologists in ICU, Cath Lab for TEE and ICE procedures.
• Join after-hours standby and call-back rotations as needed.
• Report unusual/critical values to Attending Cardiologist promptly.
• Document studies and prepare accurate charges and patient records.
• Maintain equipment and clean laboratory space; high-level disinfection of probes.
