Job summary

Medical City Las Colinas is seeking an Echo Tech PRN to perform echocardiogram procedures, including infant and pediatric studies when needed. You will work closely with cardiologists, maintain records, and ensure patient comfort.

The role emphasizes accurate studies, timely reports, and adherence to department policies. You will prepare equipment and room, position patients, and communicate critical findings to physicians.

Qualifications

• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• High School Graduate or GED required.
• RDCS/ARDMS/CCI certification through ARDMS/CCI or eligibility required.
• Minimum 1 year of echo ultrasound experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine echocardiogram procedures per ICAEL standards.
• Prepare equipment and scanning area; assist in patient positioning.
• Escort patients and notify physicians of critical findings.
• Assist scheduler to schedule patients and perform related duties.
• Maintain stock, clean rooms and equipment after use.

Education

Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

High School Graduate / GED

RDCS/ARDMS/CCI certification eligibility or certification through ARDMS/CCI

Job Summary And Qualifications

Perform all Echocardiogram procedures. If applicable, perform infant and pediatric echocardiograms. Work closely with the Cardiologists and other departments. Maintain patient records and other documentation pertinent to the department. Performs high level disinfection processes for equipment. Participates in the monthly CQI process; follow hospital standards and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for accurate and timely completion of studies, reports, charges and audits. Ensures patients and family are properly informed of the procedure and patient comfort is maximized.

What you will do in this role:

• Performs the routine duties of a registered echo sonographer under the standards set by ICAEL.
• Prepares equipment and scanning area for patient procedures.
• Escorts patients to room and assists in positioning for necessary scan.
• Technologist is responsible for notifying physicians of critical findings, Work with scheduler to schedule patients.
• Tech will be able to perform clerical and technical related duties in regards to better patient care.
• Checks equipment, accessories and supplies. Keeps areas stocked at all times, cleans equipment after each patient use and cleans the ultrasound rooms daily.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• High School Graduate / GED
• Sonographer RDCS, through CCI is Registered Cardiac Sonographer RCS Graduate of an Accredited Cardiovascular Program, AND/OR eligible to sit for registry exam through American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) OR Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) Certification through ARDMS is Registered Diagnostic Cardiac
• 1 years experience Required
