Job summary

HCA Healthcare Summerville Hospital is seeking an Echo Tech - Cardiac Sonographer to perform 2D/M-Mode, Doppler, Stress Echocardiograms and Transesophageal Echocardiograms in the diagnostic cardiology department.

The role includes assisting with EKGs and Holter monitoring, direct supervision of students as needed, and meeting credentialing requirements (RCS) with an Associate Degree in cardiology sonography preferred.

Qualifications

• The Echo technologist must perform 2D/M-Mode, Doppler, Stress Echocardiograms and Transesophogeal Echocardiograms.
• Assist in Special Testing such as EKGs and Holter Monitoring.
• Direct supervision of students may be required at the discretion of the area supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Perform 2D/M-Mode, Doppler, Stress Echocardiograms, and TEE in the diagnostic cardiology lab.
• Assist with EKGs, Holter monitoring, and other testing.
• Possibly supervise students as directed by the area supervisor.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Echo technologist shall be responsible for performing 2D/M-Mode, Doppler, Stress Echocardiograms, and Transesophogeal Echocardiograms including processing all orders and reports. This position will also be responsible for assisting in performing other duties in the diagnostic cardiology department (Special Testing) such as performing EKGs and Holter Monitoring. Job may include direct supervision of students at the discretion of the area supervisor. Employee must have the same licensure or have completed the same training to satisfy the requirements of the discipline of the student. Direct supervision means the primary caregiver is readily available to the student throughout the shift.

Position Requirements:

• Registered or eligible for credentialling as an Echocardiographer
• BLS-Healthcare provider.
• RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer); (Transfers/New Hires have six (6) months from employment to obtain RCS certifications)
• Associate Degree in sonography specializing in cardiology preferred.
• Experience in performing all modes of Echocardiography and Vascular studies.
