Job summary

St. Mary’s Hospital - Kankakee is seeking an echocardiography technician to perform cardiac ultrasound studies and assist physicians with TEE procedures.

You will support the Cardiopulmonary Department and ensure smooth clerical workflow, patient data handling, and accurate measurements across all age groups. The role requires a high school diploma with preferred echocardiogram certification, ARDMS/CCI credentials, and current BCLS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification in echocardiogram preferred.
• EKG rhythm analysis/interpretation certification preferred.
• BCLS (AHA) certificate required at hire and maintained.
• Ability to assist physician with TEE testing preferred.
• Experience performing echocardiograms in all ages preferred.
• Cardiology hospital experience preferred.
• ARDMS or CCI credential required or equivalent.
• Stress testing ability preferred.

Responsibilities

Uses ultrasound to visualize internal cardiac structures, obtain measurements of cardiac valves, ventricle and left atrium and visualize blood flow. Assists the physician with complex ultrasound procedures. Promotes the smooth and efficient operation of the Cardiopulmonary Department through the appropriate utilization and management of all clerical functions within the department document handling and disposition, interpersonal relationships and information gathering and dispersion.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Completion of Echocardiogram program certification preferred.
• EKG rhythm analysis / interpretation certificate or equivalent preferred.
• Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current required.
• Able to assist physician with TEE testing preferred.
• 6 Previous experience in performing Echocardiograms of all ages preferred.
• Hospital experience in the Cardiology field preferred.
• Registered Echocardiographer preferred.
• ARDMS or CCI credential required
• Able to perform stress testing preferred.
