Job summary

UVM Health - Elizabethtown Community Hospital is seeking a Maintenance Worker I to perform daily rounds across departments, log and repair items, and support ongoing facility projects. You will collaborate with hospital staff and operate with minimal supervision in a fast-paced health care environment.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and adherence to work orders, with preference given to candidates holding NYS asbestos O&M certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Driver's License required.
• Good mechanical knowledge, vocational school helpful.
• Ability to follow written instructions in reference to work orders, constructing, installations, etc.
• Ability to safely use hand and some power tools.
• Ability to communicate well with managers, co-workers, hospital staff, patients and visitors.
• Conducts him/herself as a self-directed professional, courteous attitude, works independently with minimal supervision, and strive for continuous quality improvement.
• NYS certification for Asbestos O&M preferred.
