Job summary

The University of Vermont Health Network is seeking a Maintenance Worker I to perform daily rounds across our medical campus, inspect and repair items logged in department work orders, and ensure safe, reliable operation of facilities.

You will participate in day-to-day operational projects and assist facilities staff as assigned, using hand and some power tools, following written instructions, and communicating effectively with managers, staff, patients, and visitors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Driver’s License required.
• Good mechanical knowledge; vocational school helpful.
• Ability to follow written instructions in reference to work orders, constructing, installations, etc.
• Ability to safely use hand and some power tools.
• Ability to communicate well with managers, co-workers, hospital staff, patients and visitors.
• Self-directed professional with courteous attitude and independent work style.
• NYS certification for Asbestos O&M preferred.

Job description

The Maintenance Worker I position requires an individual that is responsible for daily rounds throughout the complex noting and repairing all items logged at each department location. The individual also will be involved with other day to day operational projects and assist other facilities staff as assigned.
