Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College seeks a recent ECED graduate to serve as a Peer Mentor for current students in the ECED program. You will provide guidance, share experiences, and help peers navigate academic planning, practicum experiences, and career pathways.

You'll mentor individuals and groups, support orientation and workshops, and collaborate with faculty to identify student needs, promoting engagement and success across the program.

Qualifications

• Recent graduate within 1–2 years of the ECED program at Ivy Tech, Marion.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Previous mentoring, tutoring, peer leadership, or related experience preferred.
• Collaborative and supportive approach to diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and group mentoring sessions for ECED students.
• Offer guidance on academic planning, time management, practicum experiences, and workforce transition.
• Share personal experiences and practical tips to navigate the ECED program.
• Assist with orientation sessions, workshops, and student support events.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify student needs and ensure support.
• Serve as a positive role model and advocate for student engagement and success.
• Maintain regular communication with mentees and document interactions.
