Job summary

EDvance College is seeking a passionate Writing Coach for the Spring 2027 term. The role embeds within writing development courses, collaborating with faculty and students in the Early Childhood Studies program to foster targeted writing growth.

Coaches lead weekly sessions, support asynchronous discussions, and provide feedback on grammar, structure, and citation. A background check is required to ensure student confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, Language Arts, Early Childhood Education, or related field.
• 1 year tutoring/teaching/training experience AND 1 year in ECE or related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bilingual/biliterate in Spanish or Cantonese.
• Proficiency in APA formatting for references and citations.
• Proficiency using Google Workspace, Zoom, and Canvas.
• Background check may be required due to access to student records.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with instructor to lead weekly writing sessions with slides and activities.
• Co-lead writing support sessions to guide student writing development.
• Review lesson plans weekly with faculty and provide feedback on outcomes.
• Monitor discussion forums and provide writing guidance asynchronously.
• Create and organize writing resources in Canvas and contribute to modules.
• Provide one-on-one or small group writing support and feedback on drafts.
