Position Summary: Assists one or more Early Childhood teachers in the education, care, supervision, and instruction of pre-school aged children, in classrooms, common areas, and playgrounds at a center dedicated to pre-kindergarten children, and in the community. Salary:$19.61 - $25.94 per hour in 9 annual steps. Salary placement is based on relevant experience.

Hours:4 hours/day; 5 days/week

Education and Experience

Requirements for ECE Paraeducator positions under the Federal Head Start Program; High School Diploma or equivalent and a California Associate Teacher Permit (Referred by Federal head Start as “Child Development Associate Credential”) or Associate Degree or higher from an accredited college or university.

Licenses and Certifications

May require a valid driver’s license. Certificate or permit required as defined in the Child Development Permit Matrix established through the California Department of Education. CPR/First Aid certificate with pediatric endorsement.
