Job summary

Jefferson County Public Schools is seeking an ECE Instructional Assistant to support students with disabilities within exceptional child education programs. The role includes assisting with positioning, toileting, and other physical needs under district guidelines.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, passing the Kentucky Paraeducator Exam or 48 college hours, effective communication, and willingness to participate in ECE in-service training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Passing score on the Kentucky Paraeducator Exam (KPA) or 48 college semester hours.
• Ability to work with students with disabilities.
• Physical ability to assist with positioning, toileting, and lifting.
• Willingness to attend district ECE in-service for professional growth.
• Effective communication skills.
• If highest education is HS/GED you must take and pass the Kentucky Paraeducator Assessment Exam (free; three chances).
• Accurate information in the application; falsification grounds for exclusion/termination.
