The University of Michigan is seeking a Classroom Aide to work directly with children in an onsite program under the supervision of a full-time Teacher and staff. You will greet families, support teachers, and assist with learning activities for children from birth to preschool.
Responsibilities include documenting progress, maintaining a safe environment, collaborating with families, and participating in ongoing professional development in early childhood education.
Work directly with children in classrooms while being accountable for them, under the supervision of the full-time Teacher and other full-time staff.
Be prepared for general cleaning responsibilities and providing bathroom assistance for children. Take part in documenting children’s learning (checklists, taking photos, anecdotal notes, observations, etc.)
Onsite
The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence. Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan

If hired, an out-of-pocket TB Test along with a criminal record check through LARA Fingerprinting system PRIOR to working with children are expected. Each semester employees are asked to complete 12 paid professional development hours through in-service trainings, conferences and workshops suggested on a regular basis. Early childhood classes count toward these required training hours.
