Job summary

Dell Technologies in Austin, TX, seeks a Senior ECAD Library Engineer to own the creation, management, and governance of electronic component libraries using Cadence Allegro/OrCAD, supporting laptop, desktop, workstation, and server platforms.

You will drive library standards, automation, and data quality, collaborate with design and supply chain teams, and mentor others while ensuring alignment with PLM and vendor data.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency with Cadence Allegro/OrCAD and library development.
• Deep knowledge of IPC-7351 and JEDEC standards and datasheet interpretation.
• Experience building library parts for high-density packages (BGAs, QFNs).
• Familiarity with PLM and lifecycle management workflows.
• Attention to detail and data accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain schematic symbols, PCB footprints, and padstacks in Cadence Allegro/OrCAD.
• Establish and govern library standards, naming conventions, version control and release processes.
• Develop automation solutions using SKILL, Python, and Tcl to improve efficiency.
• Manage Cadence library infrastructure and PLM/ERP integration.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver validated library components and provide training.
