Job summary

TEEMA Group is seeking an experienced ECAD Designer in Dallas, TX to develop new electronic products and support existing designs. You will create schematics, lay out PCBs, manage ECAD libraries, and produce manufacturing documentation.

You will collaborate with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and test engineers from design through prototype, validation, and production, ensuring manufacturability and quality throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Associate or higher in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5+ years designing ECAD systems.
  • Experience with OrCAD Capture, PADS, and Altium.
  • Ability to convert legacy designs to modern ECAD tools.
  • Familiarity with IPC, DFM/DFT concepts and fabrication processes.

Responsibilities

  • Create and update schematics using OrCAD Capture and Altium.
  • Design multilayer PCBs for analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power apps.
  • Maintain ECAD libraries with symbols, footprints and data.
  • Develop PCB stackups for signal integrity, EMI/EMC, and manufacturability.
  • Prepare manufacturing documentation (Gerber/ODB++ files, drawings, BOMs).
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing teams through design and prototyping.

Job description

Our client is looking for an experienced ECAD Designer to help develop new electronic products and support existing designs. In this role, you’ll create schematics, design PCB layouts, manage ECAD libraries, and prepare manufacturing documentation.

You’ll work closely with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and test engineers to take products from design through prototype, validation, and production.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Create and update electronic schematics using OrCAD Capture and Altium Designer.
  • Design complex multilayer PCBs for analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power applications.
  • Convert legacy PADS and OrCAD designs into Altium Designer.
  • Create and maintain ECAD libraries, including symbols, footprints, 3D models, and component data.
  • Develop PCB stackups with consideration for signal integrity, power integrity, EMI/EMC, thermal performance, and manufacturability.
  • Perform electrical rule checks (ERC) and design rule checks (DRC).
  • Create manufacturing documentation, including Gerber/ODB++ files, fabrication and assembly drawings, drill files, pick-and-place files, and BOMs.
  • Work with electrical engineers on component selection, schematics, and PCB layout.
  • Partner with mechanical engineers to ensure proper enclosure fit and connector alignment.
  • Support prototypes, engineering validation, debugging, and production releases.
  • Work with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors to resolve manufacturing issues.Participate in engineering change orders and continuous product improvements.
What You Must Have
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of ECAD design experience.
  • Strong experience with:
  • OrCAD Capture
  • PADS Professional / PADS Layout
  • Experience with both schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • Experience with mixed-signal, precision analog, embedded digital, high-current, or power electronics designs.
  • Understanding of PCB fabrication and assembly processes.
  • Knowledge of IPC standards and DFM, DFA, and DFT principles.
  • Ability to create complete manufacturing release packages.
