Job summary

Cabarrus County Schools is seeking an EC Teacher Assistant at Coltrane-Webb Elementary in Concord, North Carolina. The role supports classroom teachers by working with individual students or small groups under principal supervision.

Starting immediately, the position requires degrees or credits in education and completion of WorkKeys. Duties include assisting with instruction, behavior management, and student care in a dynamic special education setting.

Qualifications

A four-year degree from an accredited college/university.
A two-year degree from an accredited college or university.
48 semester credits from an accredited college or university (quarter hours converted by 0.67).
Passing WorkKeys assessment scores and completion of an orientation by the Exceptional Children’s department.

Responsibilities

Teaches and implements IEP goals and NCSCOS lessons and extensions.
Performs non-academic activities such as lunch, encore, recess, etc.
Outside classroom duties including car, bus, and hallway duties.
Provides self-help and medical support as needed.
Assists with the management of instruction and behavior.
Assists with provision of individualized instruction and instructional monitoring.
Assists teacher with preparation for instruction.
Helps assure that students are properly supervised at all times.
Manages behavior through approved methods, as established by teacher and IEP team
Helps students with personal care and hygiene needs.
Maintains medication logs according to regulations and administer insulin shots if needed.
