Wayne County Public Schools is seeking an EC Bus Monitor to assist the driver in managing and caring for students during transportation. The role focuses on safety, orderly conduct, and adherence to school bus policies during loading, riding, and unloading.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma and has some experience working with students, including those with physical handicaps where applicable. This is a ten-month, non-exempt position within the Transportation department.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Some experience in working with students (including those who are physically handicapped and/or related, where applicable).

Responsabilités

• Follow all rules, policies, and procedures of the Transportation Department.
• Maintain order on the bus and report discipline problems to proper staff.
• Ensure students are seated while the bus is in motion.
• Supervise loading and unloading of the bus.
• Assist students with safe crossing when needed.
• Assist drivers as needed.
• Help keep discipline on the bus.
• Ensure seat belts and restraints are used and fastened.
• Assist the driver with all turnarounds.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Supervisor/Coordinator.
