Job summary

Lincoln Elementary in Rockingham County is seeking an EC Bus Monitor to assist exceptional students on the bus, help them enter and exit safely, and seat them in their designated locations.

Citizenship/residency/work eligibility required; pay grade 50; immediate start.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Must be willing to obtain a bus driver's license.
• Ability to lift and assist students onto the bus.
• Ability to learn and remember the bus route.

Responsibilities

• Helps exceptional students in manipulating equipment they must use on the bus and entering and exiting the bus.
• Seats students in their assigned location on the bus.
• Monitors students' behavior.
• Reports problems and concerns of students to the designated authority.
• Intervenes between students having conflict.
• Substitutes as the driver when necessary.
