Job summary

Pitt County Schools seeks an EC Resource Teacher for Farmville Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year. The educator will create a safe, inclusive classroom tailored to students with disabilities, delivering individualized instruction and aligning with IEP goals.

You will write and monitor IEPs, use ECATS to track progress, collaborate with general education staff and families, mentor assistant teachers, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations while promoting student growth.

Qualifications

• Valid North Carolina teaching license in Special Education required.
• Knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and instructional best practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to use ECATS and data systems for documentation and progress monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate daily instructional programs for students with diverse needs.
• Develop, write, and maintain measurable IEPs aligned with student goals.
• Monitor implementation of IEPs and modify strategies to support progress.
• Use ECATS to document data, track progress, and generate reports.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related services, families, and administrators to support inclusive practices.
• Provide guidance and behavior management to promote a safe classroom environment.
• Lead and mentor assistant teachers in planning and delivery.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior.
