Job summary

St. James Elementary School in Denver, NC, is seeking an EC Additional Support Assistant for 4 hours per day, 10 months, part-time. Starting immediately, the role reports to the Classroom Teacher and Principal/Assistant Principal.

Salary ranges from $16.48 to $22.23 per hour, with local supplements as applicable and employment under Lincoln County Schools. Includes duties supporting students with disabilities and providing one-on-one and small group assistance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or 30 semester hours or WorkKeys passing score required.
• WorkKeys tests: Workplace Documents 4+, Applied Math 4+, Business Writing 3+.
• Must be able to lift and assist students with personal care needs.
• Confidential handling of information regarding children with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one academic and behavior support to students.
• Assist teacher with instruction and materials for students with disabilities.
• Help with classroom housekeeping, clerical duties, and personal care needs.
• Supervise students in various school settings (lunchroom, buses, field trips).
• Participate in in-service training and professional development.
