Job summary

Lincoln County Schools in Lincolnton, NC is seeking an EC Bus Driver in the Transportation Department for a 10-month, part-time role. Work 5.5 hours per day and be eligible for leave benefits; position can be paired with CN Assistant or Custodial roles.

Starting January 7, 2027, you will transport students safely, with salary range of $16.55–$21.69 per hour, and potential placement on the Lincoln County pay scale for current district employees.

Qualifications

• Must pass drug test, background check, and TB test before starting employment.
• Valid driver’s license and driving record that qualifies employee to obtain and maintain NCCDL.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision once the job is learned.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to read, write and keep records.
• Ability to perform simple calculations.

EC Bus Driver, Transportation Department

Permanent, part-time / 10-month position / 5.5hours per day / leave benefits only

Position could be paired with a CN Assistant or Custodial position and become benefit eligible.

Principal / Transportation Coordinator

Salary / FLSA / Non-Exempt

Grade 58 ($16.55 - $21.69 per hour)

The salary for this position is based upon the successful applicant’s years of service in the NC State Retirement System in the same or similar position. Experience outside of this system may not be recognized for pay purposes. For current Lincoln County School employees, this position will be paid according to the current Lincoln County Schools’ pay scale.

Qualifications/Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to pass a drug test, background check, and TB testbeforestarting employment.
• Valid driver’s license and driving record that qualifies employee to obtain and maintain a valid NCCDL and drive a bus as directed by supervisor
• Must comply with all rules and regulations governing the safe operation of a school bus
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision once the job is learned
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions
• Ability to read, write and keep records
• Ability to perform simple calculations
• Must be able to perform very heavy work exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to lift objects
