Job summary

North Gaston High Leadership Academy in Dallas, NC is seeking an Exceptional Children Teacher Assistant to support students with IEP goals across Pre-K, VI programs, and general classrooms. Qualifications

  • High School diploma or 48 college semester hours; HQ designation per federal No Child Left Behind.
  • Willingness to obtain CDL if duties include bus driving.
  • Ability to work with students with disabilities and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong organization and ability to follow specialized instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers of exceptional children in classroom and non-classroom settings to develop behavior management strategies.
  • Provide behavior support and implement intervention plans.
  • Assist with health, hygiene, and daily living needs; monitor meals, bathroom, and transitions.
  • Prepare materials and operate classroom equipment; collect data on plan fidelity.
  • Attend Behavior Support Team meetings and participate in staff development.
