Job summary

PriceKubecka, PLLC is seeking an Employee Benefit Plan Audit Manager for a fully remote role. The position leads engagement teams, overseeing EB plan audits from planning through issuance and maintaining client relationships.

The ideal candidate has a CPA, at least 5 years in public accounting with EB plan audits, and strong GAAP/ERISA/DOL knowledge. Responsibilities include mentoring staff and ensuring timely, compliant delivery.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead engagement teams, managing workload, providing technical guidance, and reviewing staff performance and development.
• Manage and oversee employee benefit plan audit engagements from planning through issuance consistently throughout the year.
• Review audit workpapers, testing, financial statements, and required disclosures for GAAP, ERISA, DOL, and applicable professional standards.
• Identify audit risks, internal control concerns, and compliance issues, communicating recommendations to clients.
• Serve as primary point of contact for key clients, third-party administrators, and recordkeeper contacts.
• Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure efficient engagement delivery; research and resolve complex accounting, auditing, and regulatory matters related to employee benefit plans.
• Assist in staff training and support practice development through client relationship management and business growth initiatives.

Job description

The Employee Benefit Plan Audit Manager leads employee benefit plan audits, ensuring compliance with professional and regulatory standards. The role owns project/audit management throughout the year to meet audit deadlines, manages client relationships, and coaches audit teams. The majority of the employee benefit plans that will be audited are 401(k) plans.

This is a fully remote role for the experienced manager.

Preferred: Significant experience auditing employee benefit plans at high volume (25+ audits a season) · experience with employee benefit plan audit software (Autire) and data analytics tools · prior responsibility for managing multiple concurrent audit engagements.
